A Constitution Repudiated

The United Kingdom has a new Prime Minister. Her name is Theresa May. After the vote by Britain to exit the European Union, the Prime Minister David Cameron announced that he would resign.

“Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, he
(David Cameron) said "fresh leadership" was needed. The PM had urged the country to vote Remain but was defeated by 52% to 48% despite London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backing staying in. Flanked by his wife Samantha, Mr Cameron announced shortly after 08:15 BST that he had informed the Queen of his decision to remain in place for the short term and to then hand over to a new prime minister by the time of the Conservative conference in October. He would attempt to "steady the ship" over the coming weeks and months, but that it would be for the new prime minister to carry out negotiations with the EU and invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which would give the UK two years to negotiate its withdrawal, he said.” BBC, 24 June 2016 Brexit: David Cameron to quit after UK votes to leave EU

What is truly astounding is that less than a month later, Mr. Cameron has resigned and a new Prime Minister has been chosen. Of course, the British system of government is the Parliamentary System, which is much different from the American system. As you know the American system is rather complex. There are three branches of government in the American System: The Executive, the Legislative and the Judicial. These three are described as the separation of powers. The presidential election takes place every four years, the legislative is divided in two with the elections of the senate occurring every six years and the election of the House of Representatives every two years. The judicial or the Supreme Court is chosen by the sitting president and confirmed by the senate, and these judges serve for life. All this is governed by the Constitution of the United States.

According to the free encyclopedia, The British system of government is based on an uncodified constitution, meaning that it is not set out in any single document. In 1928, Prime Minister H. H. Asquith described the system this way:

“In this country we live ... under an unwritten Constitution. It is true that we have on the Statute-book great instruments like Magna Carta, the Petition of Right, and the Bill of Rights which define and secure many of our rights and privileges; but the great bulk of our constitutional liberties and ... our constitutional practices do not derive their validity and sanction from any Bill which has received the formal assent of the King, Lords and Commons. They rest on usage, custom, convention, often of slow growth in their early stages, not always uniform, but which in the course of time received universal observance and respect.” Hanchant, W.L. (1943). England Is Here—Speeches and Writings of the Prime Ministers of England. Bodley Head .

The free encyclopedia declares that the current Prime Minister, Theresa May, leader of the Conservative Party, was appointed by the Queen on 13 July 2016. The office is not established by any constitution or law but exists only by long-established convention, which stipulates that the monarch must appoint as prime minister the person most likely to command the confidence of the House of Commons; this individual is typically the leader of the political party or coalition of parties that holds the largest number of seats in that chamber.

All this might appear unimportant, until we realize that systems of government determine the element of control of nations. The structure of the British government is reflected for the most part in the structure of the European Union. The member nations have little or no control over the office holders of the EU. The one blockade to a centralized global government is the Constitution of the United States; Hence the continued assault upon that constitution. Romanism or Catholicism already holds sway over Europe. The Constitution of the United States will soon be completely repudiated, giving control to the influence of Catholicism.

“When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near.”—Testimonies Volume 5, page 451. (1885).
