The Rise of Hunger

The World Bank is as the name implies. It consists of five organizations. The website describes them. The first is The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which was created in 1944 to help Europe rebuild after World War II. Today, The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development provides loans and other assistance primarily to middle income countries. The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development is the original World Bank institution. It works closely with the rest of the World Bank Group to help developing countries reduce poverty, promote economic growth, and build prosperity.

Next is The International Development Association (IDA), an international financial institution which offers concessional loans and grants to the world's poorest developing countries . It was established in 1960 to complement the existing International Bank for Reconstruction and Development by lending to developing countries which suffer from the lowest gross national income , from troubled creditworthiness , or from the lowest per capita income .

Then there is The International Finance Corporation (IFC), an international financial institution that offers investment , advisory, and asset management services to encourage private sector development in developing countries. It was established in 1956 as the private sector arm of the World Bank Group to advance economic development by investing in strictly for-profit and commercial projects that purport to reduce poverty and promote development.

There are two more organizations. The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) was created in 1988 to promote foreign direct investment into developing countries to support economic growth, reduce poverty, and improve people’s lives. MIGA fulfills this mandate by offering political risk insurance (guarantees) to investors and lenders. Finally there is The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) which provides international facilities for conciliation and arbitration of investment disputes.

The reason why all this is relevant is so that you might understand the tremendous influence, or for that matter, control, that the World Bank has over the economies of the entire globe. Not surprisingly, the World Bank is located in Washington D.C. the capitol of the second beast of Revelation 13, whose actions are described in verses 11 through 17. Their attitude of control is well established, dictating the use of money that is loaned, and determining the choices the governments of the world make.

It is this organization that has recently warned the world of serious economic uncertainty. Mike Adams, writing for the Natural News Website, on Friday, May 30, 2014, under the topic “World Bank warns of food riots as rising food prices push world populations toward revolt” says the following:

“A new report issued by the World Bank (1) warns that food prices are skyrocketing globally, with wheat up 18 percent and corn up 12 percent this quarter. Ukraine, one of the largest wheat exporters in the world, has suffered a 73 percent increase in domestic wheat costs. Argentina has seen wheat prices skyrocket 70 percent. What the World Bank is leading to (but not quite saying) is that hunger leads to revolution. When the People are starving in the streets, there is political unrest that can easily turn violent. Because this is a fundamental human reaction, it is just as true in the United States, UK and other first-world nations as it is in Cameroon or India.” Mike Adams ,World Bank warns of food riots as rising food prices push world populations toward revolt.”

This warning may appear at first surprisingly overblown, but the consequences of a financial collapse can be far reaching, especially when food supplies are threatened.

“American investigative journalist Alfred Henry Lewis (1855-1914) famously said, "There are only nine meals between mankind and anarchy." He went on to explain, "It may be taken as axiomatic that a starving man is never a good citizen." What he means is that hunger dispels the illusions of a polite society and unleashes the desperate animal-like nature that lurks inside all human beings. A starving man trying to feed his starving children will at some point abandon all law and order, doing anything necessary to keep himself and his children alive, including engaging in robbery, assault and murder.” Mike Adams,World Bank warns of food riots as rising food prices push world populations toward revolt.”

When we have read Revelation 13 and verse 17 in the past we have, for the most part, interpreted it as existing at a time when there is an overabundance of everything for everyone except for those who fail to comply with the law which demands the worship of the first beast. The World Bank warning opens up the possibility that there might not be an overabundance, in which case only those who comply with the worship of the Papacy will be allowed to share that which is available. Either way, we need to be prepared for the time to come.
